Joe Duran - Guitarist and Bass Guitarist

Joe has been playing professionally in the Central Coast since high school A natural talent from early on, he has been playing funk, latin, rock and almost any style imaginable in groups for the past decade. He is a lover of funk and jazz/fusion and a composer whose original compositions can be heard at www.joeduran.com. These tracks feature the highest caliber of musicians in Los Angeles, the likes of who can currently be seen touring with recording artists such as Macy Gray and Natasha Bedingfield. Joe can also be heard at www.retroremixrevue.com playing on new arrangements of classic video game music alongside players like famous studio drummer Greg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Santana, Don Henley, et al.) and guitar virtuoso/Musicians' Institute instructor, Alex Machacek (solo artist). Locally, Joe can be seen perforiming regularly at clubs and events with the band Soulamente (www.soulamente.com), which was recently voted best local band by readers of the Santa Maria Sun.

In addition to Joe's music credentials, he also hold ha bachelor's degree in psychology form Cal Poly San Lui Obispo. So, while he has extensive experience working with children as a guitar/bass instructor, Joe has experience working in th classroom as well. Before working at Coelho Acadamy of Music, Joe was employed by the San Luis County Unified School District and worked as a bilingual and special education instructional aide.
